Proximity

To the end user of the access control system perhaps the most important part of the system is the type of reader technology used.  One of the most common technologies is proximity

With proximity technology, when a card is presented within a certain range of a reader the card is identified and if authorized the user can gain entry into the area.  The readers typically give a visual and audible indication that the card has been read.  Visit the HID web site for more information on this type of reader and technology.  www.prox.com  The majority of the systems installed today utilized proximity technology.
